Making Creative Business Card

Are you interesting how to make creative looking business card in a few steps? Be sure, it will take five minutes maximum!

Start by creating new document sized 500×300 pixels, then fill it with color of #e2f2f5.

Now start with creating business card. Use the Rounded Rectangle Tool (Radius: 7px) and select color of#06a4bd for creating shape in the middle of the canvas.

After that use Layer > Rasterize > Shape to rasterize shape and apply Filter > Texture > Texturizer with next presets:

You have to receive the same effect as mine:

Then apply Filter > Noise > Add Noise with similar settings to these:

Now you should have something like this:

After that use the Dodge Tool (Brush: 125px, Range: Highlights, Exposure: 30%) to add two or three bright lines to our card.

Ok, now select the Rectangular Marquee Tool to create selection and fill it with color of #dde2e6 on the new layer.

Remove selection with Ctrl+D and after that apply Filter > Noise > Add Noise with next parameters:

Now you should have a relief like mine on the picture below:

Time to add some information to our business card. First of all I would like to add some logo. Just select the Custom Shape Tool and choose one of standard Photoshop shapes. Then add this shape to our canvas. Use any color for creating this shape.

After that add a few text lines with any color using Arial Narrow font, which is one of standard Windows fonts.

Now use Line Tool (Weight: 2px) to add some line to our business card.

Then merge all the layers with line, texts and logo together. Use Select > Load Selection to make this layer selection. Now you can delete this layer, we don’t need it more. Move to grey rectangle shape layer and pressDelete button to clear selected area which you have on it.

Remove selection with Ctrl+D and apply Drop Shadow layer style to this layer.

Then use Layer > Layer style > Create Layer to separate this layer style from current layer. Now move to this new layer with Drop Shadow effect and use the Eraser Tool to remove shadow from the bottom and right side.

Merge all the layers in one except background layer. Apply Outer Glow and Stroke layer styles to new received layer.

Then use the Horizontal Type Tool again to type one more text line with white color on business card.

Apply Drop Shadow layer style for this text layer.

And the next thing that we have to do is to add the shadow to our business card. Move to background layer and create new layer above. Then select the Polygonal Lasso Tool and create the same selection as on my picture below and fill it with black color.

Then remove selection and set up opacity to 55%, after that use Blur Tool for blurring shadow a little bit.

And the last one step! Move to business card layer and use Polygonal Lasso Tool again to select part of this layer.

Then apply Dodge Tool (Brush: 70px, Range: Midtones, Exposure: 30%) a little bit.

Remove selection with Ctrl+D. That is it for now!

We got nice creative looking business card in a few minutes as I told you!

Creative menu for your website

In this easy, step-by-step tutorial I’m going to show you how to design creative menu for your website.

Start by creating a new document to make your button menu in. I created a small document sized 500×500 px with white background.

Select Rounded Rectangle Tool (Radius: 10 px) to make the shape as on picture below:

Then we can add one anchor points in the middle of every side of the shape using Pen Tool to make our shape more rounded. Then select Direct Selection Tool and correct these points similar to these:

Apply Outer Glow, Inner Glow and Gradient Overlay layer styles:

Now we have something like this:

Pres Ctrl+J to duplicate layer, then clear layer style for the copied layer and press Ctrl+D to miniaturize shape 94% horizontal and vertical.

Then apply Gradient Overlay and Stroke layer styles:

Press Ctrl+J again to duplicate layer and clear layer style. Press Ctrl+D to miniaturize shape 93% horizontal and vertical, after that select Direct Selection Tool to correct anchor points to get the shape as below:

Use Layer > Rasterize > Shape and change the color to white for this shape.

Make selection with Polygonal Lasso Tool (Feather: 17 px) and press Del to clear selection inside.

Press Ctrl+D to remove the selection. Now you’ll want to add the icon to the button. Get out the Custom Shape Tool and select Thumb Tack Shape (this is standard shape).

Use the white color to get the picture as below:

OK, we’re done for that part, but we want to add line where we can put some text in menu. Go to the background layer and make a new one shape using Rounded Rectangle Tool (Radius: 7 px). All layers of the button must be above this shape.

Now it’s time for some more layer styles, like Outer Glow , Inner Glow, Gradient Overlay and Stroke:

Ok, to finish out the menu line let’s add some text. Get out the horizontal Gorizontal Type Tool (just the regular one) and write out your text. The font I’ve used above is called Ottawa. For the bottom line of text I used: Bold, 18 pt, Crisp, black color.

I finished off by adding Drop Shadow, Color Overlay and Gradient Overlay to the text layer.

I would like to add one more text line using color of ##1d70e1.

Then apply Drop Shadow layer style for the text:
